Martin Basher

New York-based Martin graduated from Columbia University, has exhibited internationally and has been the recipient of several international residencies, including the McCahon Residency in Auckland. Martin’s multi-media practice combines both high and low-end consumer products, fabricated structures, and immaculate geometric abstract paintings. Blending together ideas of retail display, advertising and Modernism, Martin’s work questions the environmental and social implications of consumption in our times. He is represented in Auckland by Starkwhite.
